Using the Simulators

Our bays are designed for a seamless, automated experience. When your session starts, everything powers on automatically!

Bay Automation

Each bay is equipped with smart automation that handles the setup for you:

  • 1 Automatic Power On: 3 minutes before your session, the bay will turn on the bay power first — please warm up
  • 2 Software Launch: GSPRO will begin launching approx 1 minute before your booking time. Please wait until the welcome window closes, then you can begin your session

You will receive warnings when your session is about to finish, giving you enough time to book extra time if required. Your bay will close the apps and shut down when your session finishes. If someone has booked after you, the bay will remain on and they can take over your session.

Bay Tips

You must place the ball in the hitting zone for the simulators to work. Place your ball in the middle strip, in the front half towards the screen. Please do not stand on the putting turf, and ensure your feet are always on the hitting surface.

Bay setup and ball placement

GSPRO on the impact screen will show green indicators either side of the ball to let you know that the ball is in the correct zone and you are ready to hit!

Understanding Handicaps in League Play

How Handicaps Work in Birdies League

When you join the Birdies league, your handicap determines how you compete fairly against other players of different skill levels. We use our own Birdies Custom Handicap system designed to keep weekly competition fair across all skill levels.

Your First 6 Rounds (Approx. 3 Weeks)

When a new player is approved by our admin team, they're assigned a Starting Handicap based on their experience level. This starting handicap is locked in for your first 6 rounds — around 3 weeks of league play (2 tournament rounds per week).

Example: If you're assigned a starting handicap of 15, you'll use that exact value for your first 6 rounds — no automatic adjustments during this settling-in period.

After 6 Rounds — Weekly Auto-Adjusted Handicap

Once you've completed 6 rounds, your handicap automatically adjusts every week based on your best 3 scores from your most recent 6 rounds. This rolling system rewards consistency and ensures your handicap reflects your current form.

  • 1 Each week we look at your last 6 completed rounds
  • 2 Your best 3 scores (relative to par) are averaged to set your new handicap
  • 3 The updated handicap is automatically applied to the upcoming week's tournaments

Why This Approach?

Our Birdies Custom Handicap system is designed to keep competition fair for everyone — not just the lowest handicappers:

Fair Competition

Everyone competes based on their actual current form

Recent Form Counts

Only your last 6 rounds are used — old scores roll off

Weekly Auto-Updates

Your handicap moves with you every week

Open to All Skill Levels

Higher handicappers get a real shot at winning

Important: Your handicap reflects your best recent form (best 3 of last 6). Stay consistent — one big round won't tank you, and good form will be rewarded!

Questions About Your Handicap?
